Chi Chi Peppers (Shishitou)- Japanese Style

vegetable side dish by Peter Wilensky, Orange County, CA.
Other: Ingredients:
Time:
15 minutes
Difficulty:
Easy
Serving Size:
4
(1) chi chi peppers - 1 package
(2) sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
(3) sugar - 2 teaspoon
(4) sake - 1 tablespoon
(5) soy source - 2 tablespoon
Preparation:
(1) Get chi chi peppers (usually found at Japanese markets)
(2) Cut them into half and remove some seeds (not all of them)
(3) Wash them and wipe dry
Instructions:
(1) Heat sesame oil inn a frying pan
(2) Put chi chi peppers when oil is heated
(3) Stir them for a few minutes
(4) Add sugar, sake and soy source (in this order)
(5) Remove from heat

I've tried this one when I am having a conference in japan. This is so delicious together with tempura and curried tempura oyster. Yummy..
