Default Report from the fiftieth wedding anniversary

Big party was yesterday at the Cedar Landing Restaurant on the shores of
Lake Houston in Huffman, TX. Miz Anne and eighteen of our descendants
had a delicious meal with music provided by our son and his MP3 player,
desserts by our daughter who was trained by me. Miz Anne and I provided
the titles for the music and the theme for the desserts. Dessert was a
large red velvet cake and cake balls, which I found out is cooked cake
rolled into a ball and dipped in chocolate. Very tasty. We also had
peppermint chocolate bark made by our daughter.

Here's the URL for a group picture, I'm the handsome devil in the blue

Thanks to all for the congrats, actual anniversary is 12/26. I'm looking
forward to a celebration without eighteen other people watching. <G>

    George, old but still hopeful

For you folks in cold climes, it's a beautiful day here in SW Louisiana,
fairly warm, overcast with a hope of rain we need. Miz Anne is painting
the Christmas cards, I'm working in my office trying to make some money,
Tilly is napping in the easy chair in the living room. All is right with
our world. God Bless you all.

Sounds like a wee bit of heaven)) We have temps of -18c at night and it
never gets higher than -10c around here. This is exceptionally bad weather
even for us and it is very wearing!

I once owned a book that was titled "Everything wrong with England." One
quote that stuck with me was, "A good day in England is like looking up
a chimney, a bad day is like looking down a chimney." Ranks right up
there with "The only thing worse than British singing is British
cooking." I wish I still had that book it was very entertaining when I
had about sixty Brits working for me. <G> Actually most of them were
good workers and good people, there were several grumpy people among
    them though.

The problem with our weather is that it is variable, it was cold three
days ago, now it's warm again. I stay with rhinitis due to the changes.

It sort of runs in our families, both our parents were married over
fifty years, both my sisters were married fifty years, my grandfather
died after forty years and grandmother never remarried. One of my wife's
brothers has been married almost forty years as has been her younger sister.

I literally can't remember not being married. We met 52 years ago this
past June and I told her I was going to marry her then, eighteen months
later we were married. I will admit she is a lot more than I ever
deserved but I'm not giving her up. We now get to spoil another
generation with the great grands, they're even better than grands. No
diapers to change, no food to gather, just little people to love on and
then hand back to the parents. Yeah, being a great grandfather is the
    ultimate thrill.

No thank you, I did a three-month patrol on a U.S. Navy destroyer along
the North Atlantic ice pack in the winter of 1959-60. Nearly froze my
buns off then, I'm allergic to snow, ice, and very cold weather. If we
get another winter like 09/10 again I'm moving to Costa Rica or Belize.
