I just saw Sure-Jel (powder) pectin in the 1 batch packages in a local
King Soopers (Kroger) for $3.99 per package. At that rate, and given the
rising price of sugar, no matter how much fruit you have, home jamming
isn't going to be a bargain any more.
Then I went looking for a red pepper jam (jelly?) recipe and could only
find one that uses powdered pectin instead of the liquid Certo.
Why do I already think today's effort will be a failure?
