Default OT: Catherization

I check into the local hospital catherization lab on Thursday,
01/28/2020 at 0600 for the arteriogram. With any luck I will come home
that afternoon. There is a possibility I will have to stay overnight or
longer, all depends on the results of the catherization and any
subsequent work that needs to be done. I will get back to y'all when I'm
home again.

OB preserving: Put up seven bags of broccoli yesterday and will be
harvesting cauliflower for freezing today or tomorrow.

At the hospital doing the preadmittance stuff this morning. What a PITA!
Took over an hour and a half just to do all the gubmint required
paperwork, the insurance company paperwork, and the hospital paperwork.
Then the blood draw took about three minutes. Now all I have to do is go
in at 0530 Thursday morning, have the valet service park the car, go to
the cath lab and probably spend all day and that night there.

It's been about three years since I was last in a hospital and it seems
the paperwork has increased geometrically. Good grief!

I do thank everyone for the good wishes though. I'm not really worried
about the procedure as it has been done on me three times in the last 23
years and they seem to improve the procedure at least annually.

OB rfp content: I'm going to try Rita Foust's "tuna" jelly when I have
lunch. I'm thinking a couple of biscuits with the jelly and maybe a hunk
of andouille sausage. Yeah, that's the ticket, the dog is already
excited about the sausage.

They hand me my copies of the 20 (?) pages. I hand them back and say, "Just
shred 'em!"

They were afraid to put too much of the radioactive iodine in my
arteries as my kidneys don't work as well as they used to. So, yesterday
they took a peak, two arteries on my heart were pretty well plugged, one
at 99%, the other at a wee bit over 70%. Today at 0900 they put stents
in both of them. I got to see the before and after pictures and am
pleased to report that there is once again full blood flow through mine
heart.

I'm to do no heavy lifting, running, no long range walking, etc. until I
go back to the cardiologist on 02/15/10. Since I was feeling pretty good
before the stent job I don't expect a lot of improvement. We got home
about 5:30 pm CST today and now I'm going to go get a shower and then
sit around in my jammies and sweet talk a little dawg who has been
looking for me for two days.

Good to hear it went well, George. SWMBO had her gall bladder out on
Wednesday, and the damned nurse told her "no lifting for two weeks, and
no vacuuming for three years".

Bloody Hell!

I am happy to hear that the procedure was a relative success. I was
quite worried about you.

Take care of yourself, watch the fat (you really eat andouille?) and
follow doctor's orders, at least for a while. My friends warned me a
cardiac diet was bearable for about two years, max. They were right.

Dave - I had my gall bladder out some time around 1994 and still can't
sufficiently lift a vacuum cleaner more that once a week....

George - glad to hear you're on the mend - enjoy your down time with the mrs
and the dawg be lazy and catch up on watching those movies you wanted
to watch...or the book you wanted to read....PRESERVE your strength!!

I render the andouille somewhat by frying it and pouring off the fat.
I've been on cardiac diets before too. This ain't my first time through
the wringer. 1987 - single coronary bypass, 1994 - two angioplasties,
from 2001 through 2005 I had 43 Transient Ischemic Attacks and four
major strokes, and now, the stents went in. I'm a living tribute to
modern medicine and am very happy that modern medicine has been there
for me. Expensive at times but well worth the money. Considering that
the bypass and the angioplasties were done without the help of insurance.

Sore but feeling good this morning.

How can you enjoy yourself when you're at the mercy of two females, one
human, one dawg? DW offered to take me to the Saturday meeting of the
ROMEO's at McDonald's this morning. I would lose my privileges as a
card-carrying old fart if I did that. I will just sulk at home.

Just like a male‹would rather pout at home than accept an offer of
