An ode to dewberry jelly
We had Mimi's dewberry jelly on biscuits this morning and it was
strictly an orgasmic experience. We realized we had not had any
dewberries of any kind since 1979 when we lived in Huffman, TX and
picked about ten gallons around a gas well nearby that had not been
sprayed or mowed in years.
Mimi, in Texican talk, you done good kiddo. Excellent jelly and, as you
noted on the label, nearly seed free. Just the right amount of jell,
deep blackish red color throughout, stood up on the biscuit instead of
slumping or running. In a word EXCELLENT.
We will count some beads for you this morning at Mass. Thank you, thank
you, thank you.
Be on the lookout for a package coming your way in the next week.

Okay that is a very high compliment--never did I think I'd be
responsible for such an experience with jelly!!! : - ) We got 5
gallons this year--this was while I was studying for my first exam and
working--it was a good way to spend an hour or two after work with my
Hun Bun, talking and not having to really "think" about anything but
pickin' berries. : - )

Thank you!!! I do tend to like my jam/jelly nearly seed free with the
exception of strawberry or fig--those seed are okay. : - )
