More things done
A couple of days ago I made 7 pints of hamburger dill pickles with the
slightly too large cukes. I also made another batch of Bread & Butter
pickles. The first ones I made were according to Barb Schaller's
recipe. This time I followed her recipe until I got to the spices. I
used the same ones but changed the proportions.
Today I canned 6 quarts of Viva Italia tomatoes and made 2 loaves of
bread. The tomatoes look like it will be several days before I have
many more to do something with. I think I will make some gazpacho
tomorrow.
Yesterday I threw out some old canned goods. I need to do some more
tossing -- getting rid of things we do not like. Besides it will free
up a bunch of jars. I can probably use them for the Roma and Haircot
Vert beans that are starting to bloom. And the rest of the tomatoes.

You've been so busy I'm exhausted just reading about it. All I did today
was rebuild, paint, and reinstall a special door to the closet in the
garage that houses the water heater. Right proud of making a ramshackle
thirty-eight year old door look like new again. The door was originally
custom built for the purpose so it was easier to rebuild and repair than
to try to find one for sale.
OB: Preserving food: chopped and froze a new batch of sweet chiles
today, mostly Gypsy and sweet banana types. Lots of rain so the chiles
are doing well.
