Default Freeze coming to the south

We have a freeze warning for the next two days. Therefore we went out
and picked all the green tomatoes, a ten-quart bucket full. I'm strongly
thinking of making green tomato sweet pickles. Frost will finish off the
green beans and crowder peas too so maybe we can salvage something with
    the green tomatoes.

In addition the kumquats are ripening quickly, thinking about making a
bunch of jars of kumquat marmalade, we only have one pint left and the
marmalade is a favorite with all the descendants. Luckily we have
several cases of empty jars now so it won't be a big problem. Most
likely will buy a ten-pound bag of sugar tomorrow and get started. It
will be nice to have sweet pickles again. We've been in drought
conditions for so long we haven't made pickles in a long time.

    Stay warm.
