Popeye's spicy chicken is good stuff. Del Taco's bean burritos rock
too. There's also a chain called Lion's Choice that sells roast beef
sandwiches. Steak'n Shake Steakburgers and their chili.

About once every two years I'm starving and pressed for time, it's a
Wendy's cup of chili. Otherwise, the fast food chains would collapse
if they depended on ppl like me.

I hardly eat any fast food, but there's a Midwest sub chain
that I eat at every couple of months: Jimmy John's. They
have an Italianate sub that I like.

I can't claim to have a "favorite"; the best descriptor is "In default
when on a trip" and I usually use Subway even if their bread is too soft
and too sweet. I've been known to eat grilled chicken at MacDonald's
when I can't find a Subway.

There are "copycat" and "Secret Restaurant Recipes" for all 4 of
those items.

Tacos pan fried in shallow oil is a real taco style from Mexico.
It's usually made with shredded beef/macahaca, and then stuffed with
vegetbales or escabeche. So taco bells is not that different.

And taquitos are also a popular as botanas in Mexico. What isn't
Mexican are Taco Bell's tacos.

would be my guess), lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

I'm not sure any of this qualifies as bona fide "fast food restaurant"
fare depending on your understanding of the meaning of that word. Some
people really mean "drive-through, national chain" when they say "fast
food".

Decades ago I loved the "Ultimate Cheeseburger" at Jack-in-the-Box ("Gag-
in-the-Bag"). I could eat two in one sitting. The mayo-onion sauce and
American AND Swiss cheese slices matched up deliciously. I had one back in
2005 and it tasted as great and was as greasy as I remembered.

Almost a twin to my favorite BK Whopper: 1/4 pound beef, tomato, lettuce,
mayo, ketchup, pickles and onions on a toasted sesame seed bun. That and a
chocolate thick shake for lunch can leave me paralyzed for the rest of the
day.

Decades ago? Decades ago I loved a Whata-a-Burger. I first began
eating pickled jalapeños with a burger at a What-a-Burger in Del Rio,
Texas in the mid-70's. I worked there for a year one month.

They had chopped lettuce and I got it with mayo for some reason.
Nevertheless, I loved it dearly and ate three or four a week.

We left Kalifornia in 1990. So it's been twenty years at least. The
closest Jack to Philly is somewhere in North Carolina. More than a day
trip for a hamburger.

I don't remember What-A-Burger. There are none in Kalifornia which is
probably why. I'd have to drive to Georgia to try one of those. Then I'd
have to visit the Varsity, too.

My favorite fast food will always be a hamburger.

Either a bacon ultimate cheesburger from Jack In The Box or

a Double meat Whopper with Bacon and Cheese from Burger King.

Either one of those is a killer and I don't eat one except once in a
very rare while, but in younger days they were my
go to fast food.

Whataburger is still my favorite fast food place. I love their
cheeseburgers with jalapenos, but if you want mayo, you have to ask for
it, since they come with mustard. Here in Louisiana you have to ask for
'my-nez'. :-)

About two or three times a year, I eat at Taco Time, Wendy's or
Subway. I used to be able to eat at other fast food restaurants, but I
really can't at all now.
