Thread: What country do you live in?

Default What country do you live in?

It was brought to my attention that most people here on rfc don't
mention what country they live in when discussing topics. Perhaps it
would be interesting to see what percentages of posters in rfc live
in each country. Please respond to this post with the name of your
country. After the thread burns out, we'll see what percentages we
have of each country. I'm under the impression that as much as 90+
percent of the posters here live in the USA. Let's find out.

    I live in the USA.

I live in the USA and was born here, but not on the 4th of July,
you can betcha that. But looking above and seeing that - USA - made
me laugh. It reminded me of how it's often chanted at sporting events
    - "USA, USA, USA!" I remember the first time I heard it was while
watching a tv wrestling match between the villainous "Sheik" and some
American dressed in red, white, and blue. The crowd would chant USA,
USA - rooting for the american to destroy the evil menace.

But later (and this is where the humor comes in), I began to
notice the chant even in sporting events in which all the contestants
were American. It's a mindless follow-the-leader type thing - like
the backwards baseball cap. It's right up there with, "Get in the
hole!", at golf matches. In the beginning this would be yelled only
while the golfer was putting or chipping or shooting from a distance
in which the cup could be reached on one swing. Now I hear them yell
it even when the golfer is teeing off from 500 yards out. As soon as
he hits the ball they yell it - "Get it the hole!" That and the USA
chant sort of remind me of each other.

Many of us have been here a long time and know most (but not all)
posters are in the USA.. and where the rest are.

For newbies who don't, there are often clues in the from-address (uk,
ca, au. nz) or in the spellings or post content. Just because it's a food
    group doesn't imply spoonfeeding.
