Thanky. But tipping that TFH is kind of risky, innit?

Means the French were right all along. Rather than making up tasteless
jokes to denigrate a historical partnership we should have handed over the
keys and let them call us a cab.

And I think it did and until either of us can prove it then there is simply
nothing to discuss. You have to admit, it very well could have what with
the mass hysteria and mindless paranoia sweeping the country.

It's a line you use when somebody you want to date more seriously (as in to
have crazy monkey sex with) says "I think of you as a brother (or sister)."
So your reply is "well let's move to Oklahoma." That would be a stereotype
that everyone in that state sleeps with their kin. It was just an example
of what was being discussed, tasteless stereotyping dressed as humor.

So it's ok to make fun of inbred rednecks, but not the french, or little
dogs. Got it.

I googled. Charles Osgood has it in his book Kilroy Was Here,
Best American Humor from WWII.

Nope, you don't got it. My point all along has been that "humor" which
evokes horrific images does not make me laugh and I am at a loss to
understand why it should. That's all this whole convo has been about. .

Quibbling about its origin, which is what we are doing now, changes nothing
regarding my original point that I stated that earlier. It could have come
from the War of 1812 and it makes no difference to me.

I'm not quibbling about anything, I just noticed there was a
discussion about how old the joke was. It didn't sound modern
to me so I looked. I'm not the one who started the discussion
about its origin.

"Forgettable period?" Have you mentioned that to any family members or
friends of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks just prior to
"that forgettable period"?

Beats me how what we've done in Iraq has made the dead killed by Saudi
Arabians rest any easier. Anyone seen bin Laden lately? I hear we nabbed
his driver. Now if we can get his chef, we'll be talking victory. We
should have gone into Canada instead. That way we'd finally get rid of
those free-loaders.

Your reply just made that "forgettable period" all the more poignant. Yet,
you didn't answer the question, "Have you mentioned that to any family
members or friends of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks
just prior to "that forgettable period"?

No points awarded for your attempt at double-speak.

And don't discount Canadians; they're inscrutable.

Then tell us again why you asked for a cite on its age when
someone proposed particular period?

You don't even know what the phrase means. And you get no points for some
lame-assed straw man, Steve.

I've scruted a few.

You do know what Paco means in Mexican slang, right? Let's just say it
fits, Stevie.

Considering the fact that more American soldiers have died in Iraq than
people who died in said terrorist attacks, I think your attitude is
misplaced here.
