I only like it watered down... People see me pour water in it, and look at
me funny... I cannot drink the stuff straight.

I like to drink V8 while at work.
I buy a 64oz bottle of low sodium regular and mix it with a 48oz bottle of
Spicy Hot V8. The spicy hot is a little too hot for me but the mix of both
is perfect.

You can save a lot of money by making your own from tomato paste and
dehy soup green blend mixed with water. V-8 and all tomato juice is
made from tomato paste, as is ketchup, only on their ingredients list
they call it tomato juice concentrate, it's one and the same. I buy
tomato paste in cases of 12 ounce cans, I make my own tomato juice all
the time, I make my version of V-8 too... I have plenty of dehy
veggies in my larder, very easy to powder with my trusty coffee
whizzer. I don't recommend using a blender, it will ruin the texture
of the drink.... I simply shake it all up in a half gallon plastic OJ
jug.

In making my BBQ sauce, I needed to make a v8 substitute. I wanted bulk, so
I essentially pulverize.
48 oz. cannned tomatoes in water.
1 can 15 oz whole beets
4 celery stalks
2 carrots
Handful spinach
Have to add salt to the sauce, but never tasted it without adding.

You're an idiot. Tomato juice concentrate is made from tomato JUICE
with much of the pulp and other solids removed. Tomato PASTE is the
whole tomato, including most of the pulp and cores and larger seed
particles.
The USDA has obnoxiously complicated standards and tests as to how
much tomato solids shall be present in tomato juice, the color of the
tomato solids, and the consistency and size of those solids that could
not possibly be met by simply reconstituting tomato paste to it's
pre-dehydrated state. IOW, it won't be anything like professionally
prepared tomato juice that meets federal regulations.
Your concoction sound like sludge and not very refreshing, being thick
and gloopy. But when you're a life-long cheap-assed bastard with no
sense of taste you can do anything your little heart desires. Just
don't be foisting it on the more gullible people here as if it's the
drink of the gods. You've simply deluded yourself into assuming what
you're drinking comes anything close to what normal people consider
tomato juice.

"Love Poem"
It's so nice
to wake up in the morning
all alone
and not have to tell somebody
you love them
when you don't love them
any more.

Love is: not having to say I love you. (Stoopidst line ever... Tell them
ever day, every hour, every minute. Every second... Love is a garden that
needs constant weeding and attending to)
I read Brautigan used to call up his daughter and say he was going to kill
himself... Then one day-- actually 30 days... They found him. (Was not a
pretty sight)

Wow it's just like a poem except without the poetry part.

Love is whatever babble you make up when you fall in love.

If he had realized how much his legacy would be associated with bad
poetry and suicide he might not have killed himself, and so been more
like Rod McKuen with just the bad poetry part, until he was thoroughly
forgotten.

My wife also found it "a little too hot," at least at first. THat sounds like a good mix. I just had an idea, V-8 instead of water with psyllium husk.

That wouldn't work for me as the one thing I'd subtract from V-8 is the beets.

Another Brautigan fan. You're not alone here. I feel that *So the Wind Won't Blow It All Away* was so good that he pretty much considered his life to be finished. Another person who posts here praised *An Unfortunate Woman*, but I found that book to be the worst thing he'd ever written.
