    TV: Barbecue University

    Host: Steven Raichlen

My PBS just changed their programming schedule to this program.

I've seen it before on occasion and liked it.

Out standing in his fields! Very kewl show! I know it's a couple years old.

I might just have to buy an outside BBQ.

You've been BBQing inside so far. That explains a lot.

Raichlen is mostly an annoying twit, and certainly isn't worthy of the
    hype he gets.

Oh well. I disagree. He's very casual and clear speaking on his program.

That AND he BBQs lots of interesting stuff I haven't tried.

Me too. I like him and actually met him when he was here at a wine and food
festival. He was very nice (not pompous like Tillwiggier) and gave me some
of the beer can chicken he was cooking. It was great. He is very organized
in his approach to the grill. He puts cumin in his dry rub.. I don't.. but
may give it a try. Bobby Flay was there too and believe it or not he was
very friendly also, and again (not pompous like Tillywiiger). He even posed
for a picture with a friend. True story.

    We're finally in agreement?

I'd like to meet the guy myself.

    Best,

I didn't much like the early shows. He had a sort
of swaggering attitude, and the show was rather
gimmicky with the "BBQ-cam" and crap like that.

His recent shows, however, are much better.
His delivery is more polished (less annoying)
    and I don't think I've seen that BBQ-cam
in the recent shows. Maybe it got fried by
    the heat. Good riddance.

I also notice Nick Stellino is back. He too
has polished his act. His accent seems less
phony than it did before, because he isn't
breaking out into normal speech like he used
to do, and he isn't slathering the accent on
so thickly as he used to do. I still find him
very annoying and would rather watch a Ron Popeil
    infomercial than Nick Stellino.

Good. Remember, if the weather is bad outside, you can bring it inside, and
if you put down a drop cloth, you can use it in the dining room.
