A time for ...
Hello Springfield, I'm Kent Brockman, multi-award winning anchor, coming to
you live from Usenet's RFC for KBBL Channel 6 Weeknight News. The battle
between the Hatefilleds and the Annoys rages on, the battlefield littered
with bile and invective. While each side seems inexhaustible in its sniping
and lobbing of verbal grenades, neither has gained ground, much less won a
decisive battle.
As the carnage continues, interviews with the battle-weary combatants and
observers indicate that, no one knows what the war is about. Seems it has
been going on so long it continues out of tradition. The flames of hatred
and intolerance are regularly fanned hotter by one or another blowhard
passing through. The blowhard, noting the barely glowing embers from the
last skirmish, feels a strong urge to make his/her mark on the landscape -
caring little that that mark is scorched earth.
This is Kent Brockman, KBBL Channel 6 Weeknight News. Back to Scott
Christian, filling in for me in the safety of the KBBL newsroom.
