Three vegetables
If you had to confine yourself for the rest of your life to three vegetables*
only, what would they be?
*By which I mean only what are generally regarded as "vegetables". You may still
eat anything that is not a vegetable.

Where's your sense of adventure? I'd be interested in knowing what three
vegetables would be most important to the regulars who post here. It's not
like the OP was spamming with a web site link. It's a legitimate
food-related question. Get over it.

It is food related, but a dumb ass question. I'm over it.

So they say, as are a lot of things I consider to be vegetables.
My test is, if you got a fruit basket, would you expect to
find tomatoes? Not me.

For me the first two are easy: potatoes and tomatoes. So far my third is onions,
though I'm less sure about that.
Imagine losing potatoes: no roast potatoes, no fried hot or crunchy cold chips,
no potato cakes. No potato in soups or pies or stews. No mashed potato. No
potato salads. For me nothing else would be such a big loss.

Ranks up there with a question someone asked me..... if you were
marooned on a deserted island and could have only three music albums
would you take? If you were on a marooned on a deserted island you
wouldn't have any way to play them.

1. squash - because there are so many different varieties
2. beans - because there are so many different varieties
3. lettuce - because there are so many different varieties

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.

Really hard to nail it down to just 3 veggies, but would have to say (in
this order) peas, winter squash and sweet potatoes, though really enjoy
ALL varieties!
I sure would hate to live without onions and tomatoes though!

I've heard the desert island question with three books. At least that
wouldn't require electricity.

I've heard the desert island question with three books. At least that
wouldn't require electricity. Of course for most of us it would require
that we were marooned with our reading glasses.

Hot sauce to go on all of the other non-vege food

Nancy, don't give up... remove the tomatoes and peppers from your
list, those are fruits.
For me it's kasha varnishkas, creamed spinach, and beans, beans, good
for the heart, the more I eat the more I fart! LOL I'm gonna borrow
some of Nancy's onions, peppers, and corn for my three bean salad.

I wouldn't need any music... all I'd need is Maria Molina... we'd make
our own music.
