This reminds me of the DH's recent trip to Morocco. There is a huge
stray cat problem in Casablanca. They are everywhere and fearless. He
took a few pictures. Almost too sad to look at them.

Heh! That's my neighbor. My cats always seem to know what a soft
touch she is and make themselves right at home with her. One of my
cats let himself in her house via a second story window that was open
just enough for him to slip in and scared her half to death walking
downstairs on the banister.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Get our fair share of stray cats here too - but sometimes people do care.
When I was working in a big office block there was a real "Mother Theresa
of Cats" who fed the strays in the parking lot. I saw the same lady arrive
there daily with plenty of food and water for the cats. They even seemed
to know the sound of her car - because they would suddenly appear from
'nowhere' - and the next thing you knew, there she was. I've heard from
people who still work there that she still does it, every day. Bless her.

I hope she's part of a Spay/Neuter group. The ones that trap ferals, "fix"
them, then release and care for them in their original colony.

Could be, but can't swear to it.
Both our cats were strays, BTW (and yes, we did have them 'fixed'). But
that doesn't stop them sleeping on the beds/couch/wherever suits them <g>

haha! My little 7.5 lb tabby came from a shelter. She is a puppy cat,
follows me around, asks for petting and brushing. She is bathing on her
window seat in my office now.

Oh, how true! Dear daughter has a long history being a volunteer
feral cat placement prep home. At any time she may have a motherless
litter of six or more getting 'round the clock bottle feeds every two
hours. Plus over time the family has kept kitties that have s0pecial
care needs or onesd they just could not part with, so they have 8
permanent, along with 4 to 12 ferals in rescue to get healthy and that
be trained to cope with people.
