Smoked New Zealand Mussels
As promised to all those nay-sayers, 3lbs of New Zealand mussels,
spritzed with EVOO and sprinkled with a cajun-style seasoning with
light fennel seed. Afterwards the mussels are removed from the
shells, with any juice they exuded and the leftover oil. More
fresh EVOO is added along with a touch of white balsamic
vinaigrette and left to sit in the fridge for 24 hours for the
flavors to even out.
Hopefully by then I'll be able to eat solid food again without
eating my tongue along with it.

Note to Tinypic users: No sense putting any more pictures there
as they are going bye-bye. Users must move to Photobucket (their
other service). Or find another hosting site.

They look pretty darn good to me. Pity we don't have a smoker... Funnily
enough, went to our favorite fishmonger today and I also bought some NZ
mussels in the half-shell - frozen, not fresh sosueme ;-) - and a bunch
of other stuff...
They did have live oysters in one of those tanks and I thought about
buying some too - but I was trying to Keep To The Budget so it didn't
happen

I don't see anything about that on their website.
Nice picture, but I don't see much evidence of smoke.
I see color from the Cajun spice, but those mussels
don't look smoked.

They have shut down new user sign-ups. Which means they're
shutting down now that Photobucket bought them out (that was a
while ago).

I don't use Picasa because doesn't allow you to login without
having cookies enabled. And the way their login works, you have
to enable cookies for all of the Google-family of sites which
means you're always logged into Google. Combine that with links
to Google ads found on non-Ggoogle sites and you're screwed.
Personal data and behavior mining is happening and Google is at
the forefront of this movement. Y'all can choose not to believe
it and feel more comfortable in your small oblivious worlds, but
in 3-5 years I'll be back to tell you I told you so. Just like I
did when I suggested killfiling Google groups.
Google is Satan.

o.k. i've been thinking about looking for a place to put up some audio
files that isn't too particular about copyright issues.

And all your most recent pictures have been deleted. What do
*you* think it means when they are no longer accepting new
accounts?
I used to record the tinypic links of all my pictures right int he
Windows filesystem attached to my picture file. But now that
tinypic is going away, all that work was for nothing.
Imageshack has a great little upload client. I don't even have to
go to the website, and I can post the resulting links that don't
have ads in them.
Hopefully their search feature works.

i'm thinking temporary. i'm looking for a web site accessible to most
folks to put up some song that bolsters some half-assed point i'm trying to
make and am tired of searching through youtube and ending up with some live
version that lacks the punch of what i have studio versions of.

yousendit.com would work for that. You can send the link to
yourself and then pass out the link (what I do), or you can have
yousendit.com email links to whoever.
