Default Redux......FrankenSalmon ...and now less nutritious fruits andvegetables

Looks like the FDA is going to approve the GMO pacific salmon....which
    is a bad ida IMHO...

but not only that, now they have found that commercially grown fruits
    and vegetables that have been
engineered to grow bigger and faster are about 50 % less
    nutritious..... go figure.....

but.......organically grown vegetables and those not hyper sprayed
etc., are fine. So if you are not buying the 'organic' is better
argment....you might want to think again....

If you feed your kids this Frikken Frankensalmon twice a week, will you grow
    Frankenkids?

I've been taking supplements for at least 3 decades partly because of
this. I view supplements as a belt-and-suspenders approach. I eat
enough variety of veggies and other foods that I should not need
supplements but because of modern farming techniques I take the
supplements in case the ones I actually did eat came out near zero in
    vitamins and minerals.

Organic means not sprayed. It does not mean not selectively bred for
production. Heirloom means not selectively bred for production. It is
the heirloom products that are the better ones I think.

What! to the first part. I was posting about the second part on
another group. Interesting--and a good argument for vitamin
supplements and buying organic produce. Even better, grow it
yourself or shop for local organic produce.

Ditto. I read a book back in the late 70s or early 80s that
pointed out that not all produce was created equal and have taken
    vitamins since then.

Or, you could just eat twice as much vegetable.

    That might not be adequate.
