I can still visualize my grandmother as she made these delightful

1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup corn starch
1 1/2 cups flour
2 pounds confectioners sugar

Sift the flour and baking powder together.
Beat the eggs.
Add the sugar and beat again.
Add the water then the flour.
Add the vanilla and then the corn starch
Mix all the ingredients well.
Pour into a 9 X 13 X 2 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool on wire racks.
While the cake is cooling, make the frosting.
Combine the confectioners sugar, 2/3 cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla, and 1/8
tsp salt in a fowl.
Beat the frosting until smooth.
When the cake is cool, cut into squares.
Dip each piece into the frosting, coating all six sides.
