Mine wasn't blank, but it is a totally different website. Not related
to rfc at all.

I guess you're seeing what sky is seeing. I see nothing but white,
not even a sidebar like nb seems to see.

Somehow, the RFC shortcut on FF got changed to '.com'! I haven't a clue
how that happened. RFC ---> http://www.recfoodcooking.org <--- works
just fine. Sorry 'bout that!

That happened on mine too! I guess it was a FF update that did it
because we haven't "talked" in a while and I know my bookmark was
right. Glad you brought our attention to it, thanks. Will change it
back to .org now.

No, it used to be .com..all this time. That was how it was
bookmarked.

I just tried it and got a completely different site. To make matters
worse, a pop up with a screensaver opened up, and I thought my controls
were supposed to prevent that, so that makes me suspicious.

I've never had it bookmarked as .com. Always .org as far back as I
can remember. Dot com is for commercial, which recfoodcooking has
never been. I think the question should be, how did it happen that so
many queries get correctly redirected FROM recfoodcooking.com.

I can't tell you if I bookmarked it as .com or .org. I originally had
the site online and bookmarked it whatever it was. It was only today
that the new sire site showed up.

Actually *my* question was about why I had .com book marked and now
it's .org.

FF = FireFox, the decent browser alternative to that Micro$oft product.

IIRC, both the .org and .com sites were true rfc sites, apparently now they
have let the .com one go. Just hope nobody completely incompatible with
what this group is, picks it up and does something we wouldn't really like
with it.

It was .org from the get-go, i.e. ever since John Robinson (Levelwave)
registered the domain in 2003, taking over the rfc part of Damsel's
Edible Complex site.
John paid for the registration out of his own pocket; the renewal fee
was paid by a few rfc donors, IIRC.
The .com part was added by Cathy when she took over the .org domain.
The registration for both the .org and the .com domains has been paid by
Cathy out of her own pocket ever since.

I'm not asking you to second guess, just wondering out loud... I
wonder why they would keep org and not com? Com is automatic with me,
and I have to think about org. Usually nonprofits have that
extension. Is it less expensive to rent?
