Plates, spoons, knives, bowls, and pots are all incredibly easy to
wash -- who needs a dishwasher?

Dishwashers are cheap, no lottery win required for two dishwashers.
There are two reasons for dual dishwashers:
- "Euro" style i.e. poor by US standards and in a tiny "flat" with
minimal kitchen storage, so two dishwashers double as dish storage
ping-ponging between them as clean and dirty.
- Superstitious dietary restrictions dictating you keep separate
appliances, pans, dishes and utensils for different foods.
