My lover died of hiv related illness recently. He had a little yorkie
named Rooney. On his death bed he made me promise to take care of him
after his death. I said of course! After he died, I took Rooney out
into the country and dropped him off on the side of the road because I
hated that little mother ****er!! The point of this post is I had 3
cases of Iams dog food left. Times being as they are, food is a little
scarce as of late. I decided to taste a little. It wasn't bad at all
    and it's dynamite
on crackers! It tastes a little like duck liver pt. Do you know of
    any health risks?

If you just eat a little bit of dog food, probably nothing will
happen. But you don't really know that for sure because dog food is
not subjected to the same health and safety regulations that human
    food is required to have.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is
responsible for setting human food safety guidelines to prevent
sickness due to contaminated or improperly handled products. In
addition, the FDA is responsible for ensuring that food product labels
are accurate in terms of ingredient listing and nutritional content.

Dog food does not have these same strict rules that human food has.
Although most dog food contains the same basic components that are in
people food protein, carbohydrates and fats the proportions of
these ingredients are different than in human food and can be harmful
if ingested in significant quantities or for prolonged periods of
time. The same is true if you feed a dog the wrong proportion of these
nutrients by giving it an unbalanced human diet.

Dog food contains many of the same ingredients as human food, like
chicken, meat, and vegetables, but it may also contain animal by-
products for example, ground-up animal bones or organs like the
    intestines.

The best advice is to keep dog food for dogs and human food for
    humans!

How utterly predictable that you would completely miss the irony of the
comment. Instead of sitting there on your lard ass eating chips and leeching
the library computer why don't you go read a good book?

When I lived in Oregon, some folks publicized that a dog food
company was picking up road kill to put in their product.

It was legal, but the revelation hurt their sales greatly.

You tried to equivocate as if you had some way of knowing
who the Roon tried to mate with and who not, even though you
have no idea who's mother's Rooney ****ed or tried to ****. Maybe
he ****ed his own...maybe he ****ed Guillaume Ier de Normandie's...

He hates the dog but gave it a better chance than it would likely
get if he took it to the pound.

Dogs can do things that would be likely to spread disease
among humans, like licking and sniffing each other's asses, eating
raw meat, sniffing/licking/eating various types of ****, licking their
genitalia and anything else they can get away with... Their own
stomach juices and saliva must be very anti-bacterial, allowing them
to sniff, lick and eat things that would go badly for humans.

The biggest danger imo would probably be that the stuff isn't
cooked hot and long enough to kill enough miro-oranisms for it
    to be safe for humans.

    >The best advice is to keep dog food for dogs and human food for

Hot dogs can often be gotten very cheap, they're safer
than dog food and taste better. The best solution would
probably be to trade the dog food off to someone for some
human food. It might even be fun to play around with that
....and could almost certainly result in something that tastes
as good or better on crackers...

    Sure. Why not?

    >He's a troll and nothing more.

Sometimes even trolls tell the truth. That doesn't seem like the
sort of thing someone would make up and lie about anyway...
usually they make up stuff to make themselves appear better,
not worse. Although people do claim to believe some things that
are so stupid it really makes you wonder if they are actually stupid
enough to believe them, or if they're dishonestly pretending to be
for some reason(s). For example eliminationists--who have enjoyed
basking beneath the gross misnomer "animal rights" for year$ and
year$ and year$...--want people to believe it's ethically superior to
*refuse to* consider the animals' lives when considering whether
or not it's cruel to raise particular animals for food. Considering their
lives is a NECESSARY part of making any such evaluation, yet
the misnomer advocates maniacally insist we must refuse to
take the lives of the animals we're discussing into consideration.
So the question is: Could they really be too stupid to understand
why it's necessary to take them into consideration, or are they
dishonestly pretending to be too stupid for some reason(s).

Explain to him why you think it's ethically superior to refuse
to consider the animals' lives than it is to take them into
consideration. Please try to include some quotes from
imaginary talking pigs, and an explanation as to how
exactly you believe our pre-existent "selves" are preventing
us from benefitting from our own existence.

Many people more normal and realistic about this than yourself
are able to appreciate the fact that billions of animals exist only
because humans raise them for food, without feeling dirty or any
of that stupidity, even if they don't really care about the fact.
