Oh God No! My drug addition cost is going up. Chocolate should be
regulated by the DEA. Chocolate is right up their with cocaine and heroin.

Ten percent increase sounds like nothing, Corn is about to double in price.
Therefore junk food is really going up. Yea... I need to loose weight
anyways.

think categorizing women as chocolate lovers is a bit of a stereotype. The
rise in the price of chocolate doesn't upset me nearly as much as the cost

Gasolene is bad enough but it's the price of diesel that I find bad
news... and so should everyone when they see how it affects their food

How does it compare down there now? Back n 1985 I had a pickup with a
diesel engine and fuel was about 15 cents a litre (60 cents a gallon)
cheaper than gas. It was economical because mileage is generally so much
better than gas. Then a few years ago it was about 10cents more than
gas. For the last year or so it has been bouncing around near the same
price as gasoline sometime a little more, sometimes a little less.

As for chocolate.... I rarely eat it anymore. I don't see it affecting
me much. However, I am still waiting for the price of vanilla beans to
drop.... a lot.

Indeed, it's running around $125 to fill my truck these days, and diesel
is cheaper here in TX than a lot of places. A full tank from near empty
would be almost $150.

I have two fairly comparable trucks, both "1 ton", crew cab, long bed,
4x4, dually, one a 7.4 gas Chevy and one a 6.4 diesel Ford. The gas gets
about 11 MPG and the Ford about 14 MPG. Fuel prices have diesel about
$0.30/gal more than gas lately. Each time I calculate the cost per mile,
the diesel comes out $0.03-$0.05 cheaper to operate than the gas.

The price for a fill-up is pretty meaningless without knowing either
the number of gallons or better the price per gallon.

Here regular gas is $3.75/gal... diesel is $4.10/gal.
Nine years ago diesel cost me $1.75/gal.
I use 15 gallons of diesel to mow my lawn.
Now instead of $25 it's gonna cost me $60 each week to mow my lawn.
Everything has increased in price likewise, mostly due to the increase
in the cost of energy.

I use four gallons or regular each week just for my lawn. I am now thinking
about goats. I can live without gas, but I would have severe withdrawal
symptoms if I did not have some chocolate every day... It is that bad!

My city actually moves a flock of goats around to various undeveloped lots
to keep the vegetation in check. The flock was in a field across the street
from my house for most of last week.

For me, both types are a big deal. Diesel is over $4 a gallon here, so
food prices and other product prices are going up.

But my business involves travel for me AND my customers. So, when the
gas goes up, my costs go up and my customers go down. And those people
who do attend the shows have spent more to get there, so they tend to
spend less at the show. The last time the gas was really high, my
business tanked. It hasn't gotten that bad yet, but it is not as good
right now as normal. And it isn't just me. The other vendors are all
having the same problem.

Last week, I had a package arrive via UPS. Normally, it is trucked
from Georgia to Oregon, and then up to Seattle. This time, it went by
train. I wouldn't have known, except it derailed and arrived a day
late.

This morning, where I live, gas was $3.39 per gallon and diesel was
$3.77. I sold my car that used diesel, but the high cost of fuel makes
almost everything go up in price.

It used to be diesel was always cheaper than regular gasoline.
Apparently, the greedy bastards discovered when gas prices increase,
auto drivers jes stay the Hell home, while the trucking industry still
hasta roll, regardless of price. Hence, when prices go up and
families cancel that trip to Disneyland, diesel prices skyrocket past
regular gasoline prices and we all pay. Oh yeah, diesel is waaay cheaper to
refine than gasoline, too, so there's that EXTRA profit margin the
dirtbags reap.

BTW, I suspect those revolts in the Middle East are not gonna stay
confined to the ME for much longer.

In CA tax on diesel is also much higher than on regular gas. I find that
strange as well.
