Plastic Cups: The Shape of Things to Come.
Plastic Cups: The Shape of Things to Come.
A month or so ago I re-stocked a supply of the red plastic 16 ounce "Solo"
brand plastic cups at the wholesale club.
This morning I dipped into the new supply of my "tall 'glass' of ice-cold
[whatever]".
The shape changed!
Now they've got two opposing inset flattened finger grip "slots" and some
bottom molded insets that I don't know what for.
It's been probably, what, 30 years?
As much as I like the change, it was a bit clumsy at first.
I noticed the change when I tried to add a few to the last of the old,
round shaped stack and they didn't stack correctly.
I don't actually care, just came as a surprise after so long.
You noticed?

You cared more than most people. You cared so much that you
actually though it was post-worthy enough to bother the rest of us
with this boring nonsense.
Why don't you get a dog, or something. You need companionship. How
about a chihuahua or a pooddle? They seem your type.

They've been advertised on TV around here. And in various flyers. I'm
thinking they will be vulnerable to splitting as well as being awkward to
stir something.

Becca,
Thanks for the article. I read it in it's entirety. The "Squared" cups
aren't quite what I bought. The ones I got are called "SoloGrip cups,"
(16oz), maintaining its roundness, at a glance. If you hold it one way, it
feels like the old standard round cup. If you hold it at 90° rotation those
two sides have the "grips", not the dimples like the "Squared" have, just
the inset but raised SOLO logo "grip." The dimples would have served as the
better "grip," imho.
I guess the company felt it was time to put their name in your face instead
of on the bottom of the cup!?
Thanks again!
Best,
Andy

The shape of plastic cups changing after 30 years of not buying any
is food-related? Power ball, roller coasters, music, all sorts of
OT videos, ted.com, earthquakes, chat, Pee Wee Herman, a couple
hundred BS breakfast threads, and a few thousand more OT posts in
threads you _didn't_ start? Do you really want to start comparing
who does and doesn't talk about food.

Make yourself actually useful and post my ratio of food to not-food related
posts!
You STILL haven't posted anything food related. Try starting a thread for
starters!

Ahhh... wayne the fag tag team favorite!
I just joined rfc to enjoy. As much as you whine and insult, you're no
better than anyone else. Nor can warts or goomba or anyone.
You shouldn't be so full of yourselves. I'm not.
You paint a nasty picture of yourselves to the entire world the way you
carry on!!! Most of the world population wouldn't want to meat you, the way
you carry on.

I think that he thinks he's found his niche. A few people think
he's cute, and the rest want to take a baseball bat to him. And he
seems content with the first small handful.

And just to remind everyone, Warts changed his nickname to play his "get my
attention" game.
That's a sick mind at work! And it's not his first time as most of us know.

And everyone noticed you spent 20 minutes fretting over my post,
following up to it 3 different times in those 20 minutes.
It's too bad you didn't use that 20 minutes to stop, step back, and
look at yourself instead.
