OT -political emails
Please Please Please before forwarding political emails - check them out -
sending anyone a false email information is an insult to their intelligence.
No one here but it's getting just absurd!
BTW - We had the Twinkie defense when Harvey Milk was murdered - are we
ready for the Fox News defense?
"Hannity made me do it" You know it's coming.

related to this, i've heard many stories from people who respond to this
kind of e-mail with cites to snopes or others debunking the rubbish *du
jour*. it usually has no effect on the sender(s) other than 'so they got
to you, too!' or 'well of course the new york *times* is gonna say that.'
many folks are impervious to facts that conflict with their chosen
narrative.

IMHO the problem is the information is so absurd most of the time.

My Email client has a kill filter, also. I haven't used it yet for
anything but SPAM, but the time may come.

I would question why you think forwarding any form of chain letter is
appropriate, let alone one that's based around political rambles.

Because I unfortunately receive quite a few from friends & relatives. It's
the relative I'd like to kill file but alas they're relatives.
the idiocy and frequency seems to be getting worse.

Hmm. Not sure how to help, since it looks though you're using Microsoft
Windows Mail 6 - though from memory it should have a word-based filter
system. Haven't used it much - outlook, thunderbird, evolution, but not
MSMail.

Sounds hard, but I just took a look. The ones I want to kill are sent
to a mailing list that I'm subscribed to. I want to stay on that list,
but ditch the political stuff. It always comes from the same person.
It looks like he sends them to multiple lists. I can kill Email based
on who else it is sent to, so I'll try that. I'll send them to a
special folder, at least at first, so I can retrieve any if I need to,
but they won't appear in my IN box.

true enough, but all you gotta do is turn on your radio or fox news to hear
stuff that's pitching in the same league.

Is it not strange, that those who suffer most from this problem, also
accuse their opposition of suffering from this malady? FIRST?
Tis a puzzlement....
