OT: Ladies and Gentlemen, place your bets: Groundhog Day!
OT: Ladies and Gentlemen, place your bets: Groundhog Day!
Sees his shadow: six more weeks of winter
I'm betting on no shadow, this winter in Media, PA, USA being the lightest
in many years.
A couple hours left before the show begins.
You?

I'l bet it sees its shadow. You have Punxsutawney Phil. Up here we
have Wiarton Willy.
There are other ground hog day ground hogs around:
{
Other towns throughout North America are known to have winter-
predicting groundhogs. The most famous is Punxsutawney Phil of
Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (which appeared in the movie Groundhog
Day). There is also "Brandon Bob" of Brandon, Manitoba, "Staten Island
Chuck" in New York, "Balzac Billy" in Alberta, "General Beauregard
Lee" in Lilburn, Georgia, "Shubenacadie Sam" in Shubenacadie, Nova
Scotia, Two Rivers Tunnel in Cape Breton and "Gary the Groundhog" in
Kleinburg, Ontario, among many others.

Andy,
What the hell are you doing up at this ridiculous hour?
Of haven't you been to bed yet? ;-)
Well, the if the weather in Punxy is anything like the weather
here he's not going to see a shadow. I know I sure didn't see
mine.

Kate,
I'm one of the early to bed, early to rise people, usually.
I've been that way for decades.
I enjoy the silence of the early morning. Everyone is asleep, no traffic
or other nuisances to bother my ruling Media, PA with an iron fist, if
only for an hour or two!!!
Best,
Andy

ME TOO! I always get up at 4:30am. As you, I love the peace and quiet of
the pre-dawn hours....sitting on my back porch with coffee. I get up that
early on days off too. I actually feel like I've wasted some of my day if I
sleep any later.
