The best story is about the guy who stripped down to his tighty-
whities, and the TSA agent asked him to get dressed so he could get a
pat-down.

The whole idea is utterly rediculous!
Maybe for international travel.
I'm against anal probing, going from Philadelphia, PA to Memphis, TN,
just for BBQ.
Unless I'm guaranteed a female to do the inspection! And turnabout is
fair play treatment!!!

Hey, everybody should be willing to be strip searched including a body
cavity check to make sure the airplane won't be blown out from under
them.
Right?
<snork>
Ben Franklin had the right idea:
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
<http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Benjamin_Franklin>
Interestingly enough, that quote is more often attributed to Thomas
Jefferson.
As for me? I will simply choose not to give my business to any airport.
I don't fly unless I'm forced to by my employers... and will resist it
to my last living cell.

Next cruise we'll drive and not fly, we'll have lots of time to drive
as we will both be retired. I can't believe it will cost $2100 for
three of us to drive to Miami and then home.

Even with the current price of gas, it's cheaper to drive than fly, at
least within the US. I'm thinking that cruise ships are going to see an
increase in business if this crap keeps up for overseas trips.
The TSA has a really lousy track record for customer service. My BIL
used to work for them for computer support. He says that the pay for
those people is so low, they scrape the dregs of the barrel for
employees. Is it any wonder that most of the TSA is made up of perverts?

Please make note that this referred to TSA "inspectors" (otherwise known
as "gropers".)

If you fly, you can be there in 3-4 hours. If you drive, it may take
2-3 days to get there, plus hotel rooms and eating 3 meals a day in
restaurants. We are still working, so if we drive to the cruise port, it
adds an extra 4 days onto that 7 day cruise.
The biggest change, as far as getting patted down, is everybody will
have to wear underwear, now.

We're retired so four extra days doesn't mean a thing to us, besides
we get to see some nice country.

How do you figure that? I drove for my last trip, despite the fact that
flying was much cheaper. Mostly I just felt like driving, but I also
took my time and saw lots of beautiful scenery.
If you have a truck and are traveling alone, just the cost of the gas
will exceed the airfare. And then you have to sleep in the truck!
Specifically, I was going about 1000 miles. One way airfare was US$99,
nonstop. My truck gets 20mpg. That's 50 gallons of gas, or US$150 at
US$3 per gallon.
> I'm thinking that cruise ships are going to see an
> increase in business if this crap keeps up for overseas trips.
I've never been on a cruise. Have you? I don't think they are
competitive with airfares.
