Thread: OT to all you haters

Default OT to all you haters

I can not reply to your hateful replies. My newsserver is giving me an
error message that the header is too long.

This is the last of what I will say about it. I am 51. I don't care if you
believe me or not. I retired from my job of 17 years at the age of 35. I
had no choice. I got married and the company I worked for at the time no
longer did transfers to other states unless *they* sent you there for some
reason. It was just as well because not long after they filed for
bankruptcy. I will still be getting my pension. Those who stayed on may or
may not. I am not going into what I did. I am sure I have done that
before. If not, oh well. I'm certainly not going into it any further. I
have had a job since then. Again, not going into it.

I was a dancer. Was. Am not now. Am disabled and again not going into
that any more. Daughter *is* a dancer and goes to a very good school. If
you don't believe me, I don't care. I really don't. You all (and you know
who you are) have spread so much hate I am certainly not going to give you
    any more information.

I know who I am. I know what I do. That's all I need to know.

    Julie,

Usenet, rfc especially, CAN be a bitter and at the same time wonderful
    place!

You're one of a large worldwide Usenet community.

Don't let it bother you none. I've got my share of hateful "fans."

You just have to grin and bear it. It all passes over if you let it.

    Let it!

    Best,

    Andy

You couldn't get enough negative attention in the other thread?

If you don't want strangers commenting on the details of your personal
life, stop revealing so many of them.

We can all live our lives without knowing anyone's personal likes and
dislikes, the foibles of their family and friends, etc.

I have no idea what this is about and I will do something I rarely do in
these matters and chime in. This group has no shortage of assholes, jerks,
jackasses, snot eating bastards, bitches and otherwise just plain rude
creeps who have nothing better to do than to gang up on people and attack
them for the most trivial of reasonsall in the name of fun. Kind of like a
pack of wild dogs that kills for the fun of it. I have seen it many, many
times over the years and the offenders know who they are. Given the
advanced age group that this group represents one would expect better
behavior than a grade school playground but there you go. They should all
be ashamed of themselves and ask themselves what drives them to be so
hateful and cruel. Better yet they should leave and get some counseling.

Thanks. Those that are attacking me are acting as if they are older than
me. I don't know. I guess I don't care. They are saying that they are
more mature than me. That is very much debatable. They are dredging up an
old reply that I made to someone else and taking cheap pot shots at my
character and that of my minor daughter. It's all just really sick and
pathetic. This is exactly why I left here before.

Then why have a newsgroup at all? Why comment that their husband is cooking
chili for vegetarians? Do we really care? Why comment that they are
cooking for a sick neighbor? Do we really care? Do you see what I am
    saying?

However, in my experience on rfc and other groups, NOT knowing
anything about someone is often just as much a cause of
misunderstandings as knowing. When posters take a dislike to
someone and suppute scenarios about their lives as though they
could read them like a book, they are often talking about
    themselves and their own shortcomings.

Then there are the hypersensitive (and you know who you are) who go
off half-cocked with wild accusations when someone for example (no
names please) mentions they have not eaten deep dish pizza before
or any other such triviality they seem to think is a deep offense
to them. The only thing you can do is to laugh and consign them to
    the bozo bin in perpetuity.

Oh Poppycock. Lou had it right. She desperately craves the attention and
has figured out how to get it. She is constantly posted about problems
and then rejected every piece of advice and every bit of help that
people offer. She has bragged about how badly her daughter behaves in
restaurants. She can't change light bulbs..... Now she is saying that
she retired at 35 after 17 years on the job. If you want to believe that
a person can retire at 35 from a job they started at 18 feel free.
Quite honestly, I think that she would prefer the negative responses to
    being ignored.

What's not to believe? There are a great many circumstances that allow a
person to retire at 35. Doesn't mean you made so much money you could
retire as in really retire, you just stopped working. Hey I am 49 and I
recall a time when most of the families I knew only had 1 bread winner. It
was so quaint. Mom's stayed home and raised their families because they
could elect to do so. Some even went back to work when the kids were
fledged. I mean it's pretty ancient history now but it does prove it can be
done. Even more ancient history - at one time people stayed in the same job
their whole life. It is still done ya know. I know at least one guy who I
went to high school with who is still working for the same company he did
    when he was 17.

I'll say it again, this group has a high asshole ratio. Sometimes the
bullying makes me want to just quit and never look back. And the offenders
KNOW who they are. I don't have to name names.

Actually it's well known that the internet is like the wide west, and you
should give out any personal information very sparingly. If you are going pass
out your personal information like advertising handbills, just realize that
for the most part people on the internet or in usenet are not your friends. The
personal information that you pass around so freely will eventually be used
against you, it's just the nature of the beast. If you wish to chat with your
friends there's email, which is much safer but still has it's problems.

You getting upset and posting the way you just did Julie only adds fuel to the
    already ongoing problem.

Oh the memories, LOL. I once posted that I made a fabbo Phad Thai and the
trick was adding a dollop of Laura Schudder's chunky peanut butter to
dissolve in the sauce. It really made a difference and chopped peanuts are
an ingredient to begin with. You'd have thought I'd bbq'd a puppy. The
vitriol and hate was nothing short of mental illness.

Expecting the usual suspects will be crawling out from under their rocks any
    moment now.

Uh, Paul. You're one of them.

Julie, learn how to use your killfile and do so when a person becomes
too personal on you. What they say to others is no different then in
our lives; you can do nothing about what others say to others, but you
can sure do something about them saying to you.

Some of us here think you're pretty cool Julie.
