Wasn't there a pig farmer in Vancouver that was accused of a bunch of
murders of young women?

Yep, hogs will do that. Farmers of old would never set foot in a pen of
hogs for this very reason. Remember Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz fell into
the pig pen and all three farm hands jumped in just in time to save her.
They knew what those hogs would do.

My husband, the ex-farm boy, relates that feeding time in the pig
enclosure is the time to be very careful. The piggies have very sharp
teeth and will stomp and eat anything that drops in front of them.
When I was at university, my dorm was across the intra-mural field
from the agricultural studies barns. We used to go over to the barns
and see the pigs(and there were some mighty big ones in there,) the
cows with surgically implanted windows in their sides and the beef
cattle that were so well fed that they only had short little ankles
visible. But most of all, I remember the huge, snoozing mama pigs
with all the nursing babies attached. I can't think of an example to
compare in size to these ladies. Maybe half the size of a VW bug?

I think 200 lb pigs could knock down a 300 lb football player because of
their low center of gravity.

Yes there was. It probably happens more than we know. It is certainly
not the first time that a farmer has been killed and eaten by his pigs.
Revenge?

Pork is kind of gross. I mean, I really enjoy bacon and a few select typesof sausage, but if pigs ceased to exist, I wouldn't miss them much.
The Brits are entertained by Americans' relationships with our livestock:

Pigs may be gross, but pork is quite tasty. It is a favourite meat in
much of the world. Jews and Moslems don't eat it, and a lot of Hindus
are vegetarians, but it is very popular throughout most of Europe,
China, North and South America.

I'm thinking it was a good way to dispose of bodies...

Yep. Pigs will eat anything. I used to work with a guy who had a
small farm and his menagerie included a couple pigs. If any of his other
livestock died the carcasses got tossed into the pig pen.

I saw that on "Copper" last episode. Of course that PIG that was thrown in
needed to die!

The Okinawans were looked down upon by the Japanese because they were
pig farmers. They were seen as dirty, hairy savages that raised filthy
animals. The Okinawans also considered pig meat to be dirty. This is why
they boil pork for a while and then drain the water when they cook
dishes like shoyu pork. At least, that's the way my auntie explained it
to me. Typically, I'll follow this practice when I can. OTOH, It might
be dirty meat but it's delicious! :-)
