A new ice cream
Decided to wing it. Before you guys think I eat ice cream every day, I
don't. I get a thought for something and it goes in the freezer. It
can stay good for a while so right now I have a container of chocolate
and one of strawberry made with coconut milk in the freezer right now.
This one is made from a 15 oz can of evap milk, about a half container
(8 oz) of whole milk ricotta cheese, 4 cubes of frozen whole cream
(leftovers frozen in an ice cube tray from some other recipe) and what
was left from my container of 2% milk, maybe 4 oz all briskly whipped
with my brisk whipper. Added about a cup of sugar and a couple of tsp
of vanilla. This went into the ice cream freezer using mftr
instructions. Meanwhile I was cleaning out some containers including
some strawberry preserves, some frozen whole fruit that included
strawberries, peaches, pineapple and something else. I pureed them all
using a stick blender and added some honey to make it smooth. when the
ice cream was ready, I lined some containers big and small with some of
the puree then layered ice cream, and then more puree until they were
full. This gives a swirled effect when you spoon it out. Me, the cook,
got to eat the bits left in the ice cream freezer bowl and it was
delicious!
One of the small containers will be going to my great niece who lives
not far from here along with some of the cookies I made the other night.
last weekend we all had a bday dinner and she came running to me for a
hug. Her hugs mean pick her up and she buries her face in your neck
cuddling. awwwwwww She hasn't done that with me for a long time
because I don't see her often and when she did, I scooped her up and
then said to myself, oh **** my back! lol Called over pop pop (my
brother) to come take her but it was so nice to get some luvins from her
when she's actually seemed afraid of me for a while because she doesn't
really know me well!

she's a lucky girl, and so are you ... the pick-me-ups are the best hugs imo

Some children are more reserved than others. One of our
granddaughters sees us practically every day, but after a weekend or a
few days without seeing us has this "who are you and why am I here"
look on her face until she "warms up" again... she's sweet and very
loving after that, but it takes her a little while to make the switch.

My closest relationship in the family, was with my Aunt Reba. She died
of breast cancer and I miss her. I wish my nieces and nephews lived closer.
