Ok, Lamb shanks lst night were great but I have a lot of LOs, guess I
could make some soup. But wondered if anyone had a favorite wayof
using up the LOs.

Interesting question. Some leftover things invite being transformed
into something new--grilled chicken, for example. But for me, there
are other things which beg just to be reheated and repeated in their
original form. Lamb shanks (I'm assuming braised, here) are in this
category for me. I'd change the side dishes maybe. -aem

The best tacos I've ever eaten were ones I made with lamb leftovers.

It's got to be a lamb curry. Phal, Vindaloo, Pathia...
take your pick.

I always braise lamb shanks, and if there are leftovers they just get
heated up in the sauce they were braised in. You can use them for
Scotch Broth, and I usually add some curry powder to that. I suppose
that it is no longer Scotch Broth, but it sure is tasty.

Gently heat some of the lamb and wrap it up in a pita along with some
tzatziki sauce.

My MIL used to braise Lamb Shanks with celery and onions and a little
curry. Then she added fluffy baking powder dumplins (the Bisquick
package recipe with some yellow raisins stirred into the dough. It
was to die for. I can't get good lamb shanks.

It's an odd thing about lamb shanks around here. Lamb used to be hard to
come by and we used to have to go to one particular Scottish butcher
shop to buy it, and it was very expensive. Then the local grocery stores
stores started carrying it all the time. Sometimes there are no lamb
shanks at all. Sometimes there are shanks, but they are expensive. Once
in a while I come across them at a very attractive price and whenever I
find them I stock up on them.

I buy lamb shanks for my dog. Freeze them up, and she has a tasty plaything
for an hour or so.
And lamb 'flaps'. And hearts. She *loves* beef or lamb hearts!!
