La Cabaņa - the Mexican Restaurant I've been trying to remember
I've often referred to this restaurant and have been trying to
remember the name. Then I found it by looking at Google Earth and
discovering that it's still there at the same location.
What I loved about the place besides it's food and the general
ambience is that there was a woman who made fresh tortillas - one
after the other - who sat near the kitchen and that you'd always get
fresh tortillas to eat. God they were good - especially the corn
tortillas.
Here's a link to their website and a bit about their tortillas:

Be sure and visit the place if you're ever in Venice, California and
please let me know if it's still as good as my memories of it.

>The problem with LA is there are thousands of GREAT places.
Here's another with "according to the students at LMU" has the best burritos
on the west side.
http://www.eltarascoburritos.com/home.htm
Now I have eaten there many a time and the food IS great. The problem is
the place is TINY and 90% of their business is take-out.
