I only know Comcast offers this service.

You can get rid of Paula Dean, the Neelys, Andy Griffith, from your
Comcast cable box. This uses the "Title Lock" control

http://alturl.com/bpyxj guides you how. using parental controls. Start by
clicking the Enter the zip code link and you're on your way. They DO need
to know what parental locks are available in your zip.

You can get rid of entire channels in the guide. While the "Favorites"
feature can do something similar anyone can toggle them on an off.

I got rid off all the cartoon channels, religious channels, foreign
languages, shopping channels, etc. This feature uses the "Channel Lock"
    control.

If you surf or enter locked channel or show you get you get to enter the
four digit pass ode you chose to open the channel or program to watch.
When you leave what you lock you opened, it relocks.

So if you really never want to see Paula Dean on TV again, DO IT
    YOURSELF.

The only caveat is the Title Lock can be an exorbitant amount of work to
rid one's self of the hundreds of lousy programs. While the channel locks
    were a breeze.

Now if Paula Deen does a guest spot on Good Morning America, etc., you
can always switch to the Today Show.

The instructions were a little rough and pressing remote control buttons
in years slowed me a little (I've only been at it for an hour). Then in a
blind flash of compresion, it'll all make sense.

Most TV's, in the Set-Up, you can add or delete whatever channels you
    want.

You don't need to "killfile" channels or shows. Just use your remote.

Ps - since you mentioned the Neelys.... Oh man what an annoying couple they
are. So damn lovey-dovey to each other. Makes me just want to drive an
18-wheeler right through their kitchen while they are cooking. heheheh

Even easier yet, some receivers (like mine) have an "ADD/DELETE" key on
    the remote!
