I for one, wouldn't dream of asking since I know how bad it is for you.
Between the sodium and fat, it isn't good for anyone.

The sad thing is I did grow up on it, and love the original chicken, and
I would often use the lunch money ($.50) on a pint of gizzards. I know,
that kind of dates me :-)

I do get a bucket or box maybe once every two years, but it's kept at
that rate due to being unhealthy to eat, not because I don't pine for it.

Um is this a current KFC menu item? How was it prepared when you
bought a pint for 50 cents?

Have you been to the "original" KFC in Salt Lake City? I went about
5-7 years ago and they had an all you can eat buffet. They moved to a
new building a few years ago.

It's only a menu option these days in some RFC locations (I'm guessing a
bit more south than where I am at the moment) I guess. But yes, it used
to be a regular menu option. Deep fried gizzards are generally tough,
but if you use a pressure fryer, it works well. And they cooked it using
the same breading as the original chicken breading, although it did not
stick on quite as well. My sort of decadent food :-)

I haven't been to the "original" KFC in Utah, but I will attest to
trying a couple of the KFCs in Kentucky that were "outstanding" in
comparison to all the others I've ever visited. Maybe their chicken
suppliers were more outstanding... don't know.

But I grew up in Ft. Wayne, IN, which is where I squandered my lunch
money on either gizzards, or on a hostess cherry fruit pie, and a
submarine donut (white cream, and chocolate frosting made fresh every
morning) that was next to the school I spent several years at. Fond
memories of innocence.
