I feel so domestic
I have to go to a semi formal thing this Saturday, and I had no suit
that fit. So I found one at Goodwill that fit, except the legs needed
to be hemmed. I got out the needle, thread and iron, and did it all
by myself. It doesn't look great if you pick it up and inspect it,
but unless someone there has an ankle fetish, I don't thing anyone
will notice.

Well done! I believe that the basic domestic arts whould be able to be
performed by any adult who doesn't have a disability. and turning up a hem
is one of those basics :-))

I could do both passably, though neither particularly well. I've
never milked a cow but I understand the process well enough. I did a
pretty minimal job on the hemming. The trousers weren't in perfect
condition anyway, and I can't see wearing them many more times. The
jacket is fine as long as I don't gain any weight, and could be worn
with mismatched pants, which isn't true of the only other one I own,
which is just for waist-up photos.

Not bad. I was taught how to properly hem, and I even have a machine
that will hem, but I still use Stitch Witchery to iron up pants hems.

Fascinating stuff. I think this is a reality soap in the making. "Life
of Bryan" maybe?
