Default Honey, your garlic is popping!

Bull****!, I said. I ran to the kitchen just in time to see one clove do a
    somersault as it exploded.

I roasted 2 heads in the toaster oven at 350 for about 30 minutes. The Wife
got a bit upset when the cloves started behaving like popcorn.

    They're ****in' good!

More salt next time. At 59 cents a pound, next time could come as early as
    the morning...

You must be doing something strange to make that happen but I can't
figure out what. I take off the loose papery skin, slice across the
top of the bulb to just expose the cloves, and place on a piece of
foil. I drizzle olive oil on it, then pull up the foil loosely around
the sides. Toaster oven at 350F for 45-60 minutes. All is then soft,
easily squeezed from the skins, and delicious. Don't know how any of
    it could pop. -aem

Only 2 cloves popped. Never saw anything like it before, but I'd never seen
a baked potato explode in the oven until the first time it happened.

Just asking the obvious, but did you trim the top of the garlic head
before putting it in the oven?

We always separate the cloves from the head. I've never had a problem with
popping garlic before. I don't know what TFM® did. But, since my computer
is right next to the toaster oven, I could clearly see and hear that the
    garlic was popping!

Like I said, it's never done that to me before and I've been roasting garlic
    for YEARS. Funny.

Too strange and too funny. I can see you both sitting there minding your
own business when the pop-pop started. Wonder what made the garlic pop
like that. Never had it happen to me. Now the egg in the microwave was
    'nother whole story.

This reminds me of a video I saw recently of cell phones making corn
    kernels pop. Very weird.
