    Default A Great Breakfast !!!

Yesterday as I often do on the weekend, I smoked a couple
duck legs. Today, I bought a Trader Joe's Tomato and Pesto
Flatbread, and added chopped smoked duck meat on top. It
was great! It was the perfect platform for carrying the
duck meat. The pesto flavor held up well against the strong
smokiness of the duck meat. I suppose it would also work
well with smoked chicken or bacon.

I don't follow the instructions on the box, because my oven
doesn't work. I cut the frozen flatbread into two pieces,
and baked them in two batches in my big cast iron pot on
the stovetop over low heat, covered. Contrary to my earlier
prediction, the cracked cast iron lid survives to the present
day. I'm surprised cast iron is so flexible. When the big
cracks first appeared, I assumed I only had a few days or
weeks before they cracked through and separated. I always
had the impression cast iron is a brittle material, but I
    guess I was wrong.

By the way, the Trader Joe's where I usually shop discontinued
the free coffee a few days ago. Is that going on everywhere?
The price of coffee has recently risen, which may explain it.
My ears are still ringing, so it would probably be good for me
not to drink coffee for a few weeks or months.

Heh! I like nontraditional breakfasts. I had two smoked pork
ribs. That would be a great kick-of for LCing, but I am going to
Tokyo and don't think I can LC very well there.
