Ghost chile pepper!?
Ghost chile pepper!?
The new hottest chile pepper on the planet!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhut_Jolokia_pepper
Saw the man vs. food guy's food challenge. Had it on a hamburger and he
failed after one bite.
Who's tried one? On what? A sliver or whole, raw, cooked?

I bought a Bhut Jolokia plant at Frederick's in Souderton last year, and
gave it to my brother. He grows many kinds of peppers and makes his own hot
sauce, shooters, pickled peppers, etc. When our family gets together, he
brings the sauce and everyone sees who can eat the most and hottest sauce.
A bunch of us tried the ghost pepper sauce, on crackers. It was hot.
Painfully hot, but it tasted pretty good. One of my other brothers ate a
whole pepper and spent a few hours in the backyard drooling uncontrollably,
crying, and gasping for air.
My family has great parties!

dejablues,
My family had semi-great parties once in awhile but not with ghost chiles.
Those weren't around at the time, thinking... thankfully!

Anyone know if this comes in a sauce and if so, where it can be
purchased?

They poured a bunch of it into Nuclear Wings or something he had to
eat in Sarasota and he couldn't do it then, either. Serving people
something that hot isn't challenging them so much as poisoning them.
They should be banned. There's nothing funny about what practical
jokers and other assorted idiots are going to do with those damn
things once they become commercially available.

He's definitely a glutton for punishment. "Frat mentality" man. He'll
have some serious digestive problems someday soon, if he doesn't already.

One of his challenges required him to sign a waiver which said, among
other things, that eating whatever it was "May cause bleeding." I
don't think it was referring to his mouth.

Right. Ban food because somebody might hurt themselves with it. How
about banning pumpkins--considering what one thrown out of a car at high
speed did to my mailbox those things could do real harm to someone. So
let's ban them.
Geez. What we really need to do is ban anyone who wants to ban anything.

Right!
There's a waiver like that to sign at Cluck-U (chicken wings) somewhere
in the state of Delaware, USA.
YIKES!!!

That's just idiotic. Why eat something that hot? I mean, really?
Granted, I do like the flavor of Habaneros, but in very, very small
quantities. Last time I ate a salsa made with just jalapenos, I paid
severely for it about 4 hours later. I started getting low abdominal
cramps that were agonizing.
Never again.
