We have had these nice Frigoverre 1L glass pitchers for a long time,
but with age and use, the tabs that hold the blue lids on have cracked
off. I tried googling for replacements; even searching on yahoo.it.
Apparently the factory does not sell replacement lids. I can't be the
only one with this problem, so what have people done for a
replacement?

A strategy supposedly successful in Italy is to go to a discount store
and steal new lids. If caught or challenged you simply assert that
those are your lids you brought so that you could buy matching
containers.
