    Default FREE kitchen stuff score!

The café that services our building at work was cleaning out a lot of stuff
very quickly today. I suspect an inspection. Anywho, I happened to be
outside in the smoking section where the dumpster is while they were madly
cleaning out. When I started seeing some of the things they were throwing
away, I was shocked! Just SHOCKED I tell you. I know all of the kitchen
staff well, so the one guy that had the duty of picking up the stacks of
"trash" and carrying them to the dumpster would walk by showing me what he
had. lol They had a bunch of those stainless pans that go in a steam table
and I took one of the shallow ones that was still in good shape. Figured
based on the shape and weight it will come in handy for something. Are
those oven safe? I also got some muffin tins, and a couple of ceramic bread
loaf shaped pans in light blue with a nice design on the sides.

Hotel/buffet pans are good for all sorts of stuff. Doesn't matter if
they're beat up, as long as they're cleanable.

Not beat up at all which is why I was so surprised they were throwing them
out! I would have taken more stuff but I just don't have the room. Me and
my smoking buddy out there were shaking our heads talking about how that
stuff would have been good for a soup kitchen. The guy throwing out stuff
was so fast it was hard to stop him before you heard a CRASH in the
dumpster. My buddy got some really nice oval shaped stainless
bowls/casserole dishes and even a stainless thingie that holds milk or half
and half like you normally see in a restaurant. She said they threw out a
few of those before I happened on the scene. Bummer.
