Follow up to the Housewarming party
Well, after asking lots of questions about prep for this party
(freezing lemon bars or not and light-coloured punches...) I figured
I'd report back the day after. To those who are interested...
The lemon bars froze just great! The lemon filling was even softer
when thawed, it seemed. I also had raspberry crumb bars and
millionaire shortbread.
Punches were: Peach white wine sangria and apple sparkler non-
alcoholic. I also had bottles of Pellegrino for those who didn't want
anything sweet. No spill stains discovered yet!
Just for the record, here's what else I had: blue cheese spinach
tartlet, creamy crabbies (from this group!), pepperoni asiago
pinwheels, baked brie with carmelized onions in puff pastry, smoked
salmon platter, cheese board with grapes, tuscan white bean dip,
crudites and sour cream dip,
Whew! It went well, but I'm a little tired today.
Thanks to all who helped me figure out how to choose my refreshments.

I grew up 60 miles from there.

My father in law lived in Holland MI when for a while when he was a kid.
From the stories he told I thought he had spent his entire childhood
there, but it turned out to have been only one year. But that was back
in about 1910.

Not far! The next time you're visiting childhood friends and I buy
