Daughter turns 25 tomorrow..Took her to a Buffet..Yum...
My Daughter, Rebekah (Alyssa's Mum) is 25 on Tuesday 17th February, so a few
of us went there yesterday (15th) for this magnificent buffet...Fully
Licensed as well with some beautiful wine's....
There was absolutely no shortage of anything from menu and all fresh
Australian seafood as well..... The crabs were so plentiful, but I couldn't
be bothered having to sit and crack them open for the meat....
I thought it was great value as the cost of seafood is very expensive to
purchase.....
What do you think of the value?...Has anyone a favourite buffet
(Smorgasbord) they go to have as good a bargain?....Whenever I have been to
these type of restaurants in the past I find that the tables are often low
and out of many of the advertised menu items.....
http://www.berowrawaters.net/waterview.asp
And this is the usual Sunday Lunch..A Buffet (Smorgasbord).....Cast your
hungry eyes over the menu.....Yummy..And only $50 each and cost's for a
child is $2 for every year old they are...Thus, Alyssa (5) cost only
$10.....

It's on a par with a few of the Smorgasbord places around here.
Unfortunatly, we don't do "Smorgasbord"... it's just not worth paying that
sort of money for all those choices and ending up only having 1 plateful,
and we're full!!
Now, back when I was younger....... I used to *love* the seafood
Smorgasbords :-)

It seems to originate from Texas, but that's just the Google groups
address.
The grub actually lives in Melbourne.
I'm off to Singapore, KL, Penang, and Thailand soon (for 3 weeks), and
have to duck over to NZ for a few days when I get back...... but after
that, I might just make a little side trip down to Melbourne.

It's in Hong Kong, Texas. $7 is the low-average price of a chinese
buffet in the U.S. There are better if you want to spend $10-$14.

Ohh, good times Barry! A good deal for the price I might add in a place
with that nice of a view of the boats and such. It reminds me of some of
the better places in Pattaya Beach Thailand (or Phuket Thailand which also
has similar looks in places).

Hehe it's is a very small world Peter! Barry (Bazz) and I are old chums
since about 2000 or so. I was always *hoping* my ship would get to his area
but it never did.
He knows me as xxcarol (Fidonet, not usenet or internet type of
communications). Hey Peter, if going to Pattaya, check out 'The Lobster
Pot'. It's along that big 'walking street' on the right side, past the kick
boxers etc.

Naw Barry, she's a statesider sort. She references a local place and i
assure you, the variety will not match what you posted nor the quality
match. We do have some pretty reasonably priced 'buffet' sorts of places
with 'good enough for me' foods here but it's kinda like comparing a VW
Beetle (decent vehicle to get about) and a mercedes (also decent to get
about but a whole 'nuther class).
We do have our upscale Buffets as well but they do not run 7$ nor do they
have wine lists etc. Your choices at our cheap places then to be sugared
tea or unsugared, or several types of 'sodas' (pepsi/coke etc sorts of
things).
We used to do the 'Country Buffet' here for the 1:275 breakfast for 3.50$
each and they have coffee or cold tea, sausages (several cheap types),
bacon, grits, scrambled eggs, various sweet breads, and some fruits as the
selection ;-)

Just for comparison purposes, my cousin famously describes Old Country
Buffet as "all the hospital food you can eat." I agree, it isn't much
like that seafood paradise the original poster described. I expect
I'll end up going back when we have grandkids--kids like being able
to choose their own meal, even if it isn't _quite_ perfect.

Heheh having worked in a hospital, this stuff was a bit better but not by a
large margin. Still, for the price I was happy with the biscuits and ham
slices with some jelly, and the eggs were not too bad if you caught them
just as they were adding fresh ones. I mostly pigged out on fresh fruit
though!

Yeah - it's too bad *you've* never been there. Seeing it on Usenet

I pay for all my buffets in LV and LT with quarters.

I think you may be getting me mixed up with someone else Carol.... I have
only ever used UseNet, and Email, plus Skype to ever communicate with others
online.... I didn't have any idea what 'Fidonet' was until today when I
looked up Google for information...I must admit that I still don't really
know anymore about it from what I read.....
