Coffee
Has anyone else noticed a jump in coffee prices?
My favorite brand has just jumped $1 for a 12-oz. bag. I notice other
brands have gone up about the same amount as well.

I'm still paying anywheres from $5.99/lb to $7.99/lb depending on the
brand. I buy and grind whole beans.

There's supposed to be some kind of shortage, and Starbucks said last month
that they were already raising their prices to reflect the higher prices
that were coming.

hmmm didn't know that. ShopRite is running my brand (Chock full o
nuts) for $1.74/can, limit of 4. I have coupons good for $1 off 2. I
guess I'll be picking up the limit. I refuse to pay full price for
coffee and I only drink COFN New York Roast.

Could it be that the USD is falling short??
Or is that just here in Oz? At the moment, we are just about on parity with
the Greenback, and experts predict that we will go above it quite soon, and
stay above it for the next 6-12 months.
*Then* it'll be a good time for any Yanks to visit Australia as they'll be
getting about AUD$1.25 to their Greenback :-)

Other way around. If our dollar is higher the greenback will buy
*less* Oz dollars.

It's cheap, crappy coffee. It's fortunate for you that you like it,
but don't think that anyone who is spoiled on good coffee will like
it.
