    Default Chocolate donut glaze issues

I made Alton Brown's donut glaze recipe. It includes 2 cups confectionary
    sugar and 1/4 cup milk.

I substituted chocolate milk for the milk and added a tablespoon of cocoa.

The glaze was very thick. But I like it chocolatey. I guess I could have
just added more milk while it was on the stove. I added more milk after I
took it off the heat, and it was watery.

You need to add more cocoa to obtain that chocolate flavor you are
looking for, the chocolate milk will not get you there, it is not
chocolatey enough. Leave the milk the same and add about 6 tablespoons
    of cocoa.

Glaze should not be thick enough to ever give a good rich chocolaty
flavor. That's the donut's job. 10 years of donut making experience

I'm trying to recreate a Hostess Boston Cream Pocket Pie with a chocolatey
glaze. The glaze is chocolatey enough for that.
