Cheez-Its
Cheez-Its cheese crackers have a lot of calories.
Maybe they'd be good in a pie crust recipe? Or in a casserole?

Buy the garlic parmesan flavor-very versatile. Flavor will always trump
calories :-)

Good idea. I see they also have Mozzarella and Monterey Jack flavors.

I've tried them all, I like the Original best... they also make larger
sized crackers, I don't care for those either. I'm the same way about
potato chips, I don't like any of the flavored ones.

I've crushed them up and topped casseroles with them. I think you
could use it as a crust for Shepherd's Pie.

Shrug from me as well as I didn't see a question, just a statement.

I guess it's pretty hard to beat kettle chips, cooked in lard.

I don't like kettle chips. If I'm going to sin with chitata pips
there're going to be the real deal. I used to like Wise but of late I
prefer Lays, original or crinkle cut.

Me too. I like plain cheez-it’s the best. As for chips, years ago there was
a Campbells potato chips that were better than all the rest. They may have
been a Tx. brand. They were very thin and some were folded over and puffed.

I used to buy one of the Schneider company chips, then switched to giant
eagle chips. They also have less salt. Recently I picked up a bag of Utz
chips. I'm sold, I'm spoiled. Lower salt, but they don't carry it at my
market, giant eagle.

Re: Cheez-Its
I took a handful of the Colby flavor Cheez-Its and coated some cod pieces
with them. I sprayed a touch of olive oil to help the pieces stick then
baked in the oven. My hubby LOVED the dish when finished. Light, very little
oil, but a lot of flavor.

I think Zapps (Louisiana) recently started selling chips in my area
(Massachusetts).
Emeril (chef) likes to eat his Zapps chips frozen.

Were they better than Ritz crackers?

You mean Snyder's? (of Hannover, not affiliated with Snyder's of
Berlin).
I'm pretty sire Wise make Giant Eagle's chips.
Zapps are the best potato chips, with Kettle brand (non-ruffled)
coming in a close second. Zapp's Voodoo chips rock (limited
distribution on those).

I bashed Cheez-Its crackers and rubbed them with some butter to make a crumb
topping for a crab/corn casserole. Big mistake. The Cheez-Its flavor was
so powerful the casserole was over-powered. Might have been a good idea if
I were trying to disguise the casserole ingredients. Polly

I think either would work very well. I just smashed them with a rolling pin
then lightly coated the fish. Think I will try the Ritz crackers. My husband
loves fish and I am always looking for a way to change around the flavor
combos. I don't like fish so I never taste what I have fixed. I have to
depend on hubby to tell me if he likes it or not. A cleaned plate is a good
indicator that he liked the dish.

I'll try it. Thanks.
