Can't have too much chocolate can you?
I'm beginning to think you can.
Today was a mixer for the San Diego food bloggers hosted by Will at
Eclipse Chocolat. http://www.eclipsechocolat.com/
We were treated to our choice of tasting sampler plates.
This one is the Artisan caramel and cheese platter. Four cheeses,
candied mango, sugared torta and chile burnt caramel sauce.

Chocolate olive oil fondue and fruit platter
http://i27.tinypic.com/1qhbux.jpg
Seasonal dessert tasting platter
Frozen chocolate-mixed berry merlot mousse, grilled white chocolate
carrot gateau, dark chocolate croissant bread pudding with creme
anglaise sauce, white chocolate-chamomile lemon bar.
http://i28.tinypic.com/2sacihh.jpg
Stan had a roast beef and swiss cheese pannini. We also had lavender
vanilla bean lemonade.
http://i25.tinypic.com/2vvpcf5.jpg
I had the goat cheese, chocolate, fig pannini.
http://i30.tinypic.com/16gdeag.jpg
We were given samples of the Cacao Azteca which is caramel chocolate
ganache infused with hot chiles and dusted with sweet chili powder.
and samples of a sage scented dark chocolate embedded with blackberry
bits.
I want to go back and eat each one again, separately so I can really
appreciate the different flavors. I just had too much at once.
Not that I'm complaining.
It was so much fun to meet other San Diego bloggers. A great group of
people. It was so funny, everyone brought out their cameras when the
food came out. I wasn't the only one for a change. ;-)

Yes, you can have too much chocolate. My daughter and I had chocolate
fondue for New Years Eve a few years ago, and I OD'd on it. I felt so
sick. The next day I felt very hungover (and no, there was no booze in
the fondue). Since then, my daughter will have her beloved chocolate
fondue, and I will eat a very few bites. You can see, since I am a
chocoholic, that I must have felt extremely ill!

I've never understood chocolate. I certainly don't want it in my chili.
Okay, occasionally I like chocolate milk. Just not a big chocolate fan. I
liked it when I was a teen but I got over it. Give me butterscotch instead

koko,
You sampled all those plates?!? I think I would've been sick.

Have many happy returns,
I was thinking there's obviously no point in palette cleansing. It wouldn't
be at all effective, just another sample between samples.
Thanks,
