I'd get in touch with the manufacturer to find out for sure.
The nursing home could borrow or rent multiple bar blenders
for their festival.

Yes, it is very likely the machine already on hand will make smoothies
because it;s simply the degree of freezing needed. But borrowing
blenders is the perfect suggestion. The intended festival is likely
to see need for multiple flavors of smoothies, therefore the use of
multiple mix-n-make machines (flavor stations) offers far less wash
outs between flavors.
