I certainly am not what y'all could refer to as a regular, and I
haven't been here long (googling with apology because I have no idea
how to set meself up with any other newsreader) and did not know much
about this man. However I certainly have teared up a bit within the
warmth and love others have shared over the loss of this Blinky man I
did not know.

Is it the seemingly off topic grieving space taken up here that
bothers you? Skip the posts, then. Better yet, post on topic about
recreational.food.cooking and leave others to show respect however
they may.

There's always one (or more) in every group like this. If you don't
know the guy or think it's a big deal for you, that's fine and
understandable, but no one's forcing you to read the posts. You can
see the thread with his posting name in it, and you can ignore that
thread if you choose. There's no reason to be hostile about it. Most
posts on the groups are off topic, and this one, at least isn't a
discussion out of spite or intended to annoy anyone. It seems an odd
thing to want to start another thread and add more clutter about it, in
an effort to try and stop seeing him mentioned, don't you think?
Anyway, I wouldn't worry, I'm pretty sure the posts will die off soon
enough.
