Black Raspberry Apple Pie- our first taste of autumn!
What's your favorite season?
Ok, so even if the weather isn't cooperating much, I decided I'm ready for
autumn and all that I love about it. I figured, if mother nature wasn't
being helpful, I'd make a little temptation for her to spur her on! lol. So
I decided on apple pie, which just screams fall doesn't it? Only, rather
than a regular apple pie, I made this one with black raspberries (thank you,
Trader Joe!). It turned out delicious, and was a perfect end to a less than
perfect day.
If anyone's interested, there's a recipe (well, not so much a recipe as a
guide lol) and pictures on my blog (http://eating-sandiego.blogspot.com)
just in case you want to spur Mama Nature along too.

Thanks!
It was wonderful, and such a good way to end a not so good day,
you know? And I have to say, I am loving those black raspberries this year.
I've been running them through the blender and straining out the seeds to
make a puree and adding sliced strawberries to serve over pancakes or
waffles for Sunday breakfasts. Last weekend, I served them with Eibrot too,
which was a good combination. If you have a Trader Joe's by you, they are
something to look for!

Gorgeous! Can you email me a slice or two as an attachment? :-)
My sister, bless her heart, just sent a care package from PA. It
contains four jars of jam; she didn't specify the type but I am hoping
that at least one is black raspberry. I will slather it heavily on a
slice of sourdough toast with butter, and to hell with the diet and
the blood sugar for one day!
Best -- Terry

LOL! Wouldn't it be nice if we could email samples of our goodies? I would
love that
How nice of your sister
My Aunt Maggie, whenever I go up country, always
sends me
home with jam and apple butter and, if I'm really good, her corn...which is
the best ever.
