"Beau Monde Seasoning® by Spice Islands is a long-time favorite of people
all over America.
Mellow beefy flavor with broad tones of celery, onion and garlic. Widely
sought for use in party dips and Bloody Marys. Marvelous on salads, green
vegetables, or pot roast."

From Google:
http://whatscookingamerica.net/Q-A/beaumonde.htm
Beau Monde is a seasoning salt. It can be found in the spice section of
your grocery store. I have a bottle in my cupboard made by Spice
Islands. If you can't find it, ask your grocer to stock it for you.
Homemade Recipe for Beau Monde Seasoning Salt:
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground bay leaf
1 tablespoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons ground pepper
1 tablespoon ground white pepper
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground mace
1 teaspoon celery seed
In a small mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients. Pour into a
tightly closed jar and store in a cool, dry place.
Yields approximately 9 tablespoons.
[above words are all from the site listed above]
The most interesting fact is that it isn't in my Penzeys catalog. I
thought they sold everything!

Well, political or not, we don't get that in Canada.

You see, it also searches French language sites as my Google is set in
French. So much for that.

As I've already pointed out, my Google is not USAcentric and we don't get
that in Canada. Thanks for the capsule.

We don't get in it in the UK either Michel. Glad you asked and got US
flamed, for not being familiar with US items! Sometimes this group is very
USAcentric! Like the world series that comprises of ....... USA!

Since you are at least bilingual in French and English, it would make sense
to check all the languages you speak/read. There are a plethora of choices
in Google. Since I read English, French, German, and Spanish, I have all
four checked:
Prefer pages written in these language(s):
Arabic
Armenian
Belarusian
Bulgarian
Catalan
Chinese*(Simplified)
Chinese*(Traditional)
Croatian
Czech
Danish
Dutch
English
Esperanto
Estonian
Filipino
Finnish
French
German
Greek
Hebrew
Hungarian
Icelandic
Indonesian
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Latvian
Lithuanian
Norwegian
Persian
Polish
Portuguese
Romanian
Russian
Serbian
Slovak

Here's another site:
http://www.zeer.com/Food-Products/Sp...nd-Beau-Monde-
Seasoning/000031274
List of ingredients from this site:
Salt, Dextrose, Onion, Celery Seed, and Silicon Dioxide
[end of quote from site]
Salt I've heard of. Dextrose is sugar. OK on onion and celery seed.
Silicon Dioxide is sand. I'm sure it is finer than sand at the beach.
It keeps the salt from clumping.
So, US$5.15 for almost nothing. I can buy salt and sugar pretty cheaply.
I'm surprised, though, that something with such an obviously French name
is apparently a US product not found in Canada or the UK. I guess it's
like French fries.
> Like the world series that comprises of ....... USA!
Let's not forget our friends in Canada. The world series is actually
North American, the US and Canada.
I've read two reports on where the name "World Series" came from. They
completely contradict each other, so I won't repeat either.

Is it a trade name from the Spice Island Company?
Thanks for the recipe by the way. :-)

Bitters. The sun's already set on your empire.
BTW: Michel gets flamed as (if not more) often than Sheldumb so
there's nothing unique about today.

Searching in assorted languages may not help; I'm in Canada as well, and
a Google search on Beau Monde doesn't turn up anything about a seasoning
blend until midpoint of the second page of results.
First page results are primarily restaurants and spas, with the first
listing being a "naughty galleries contain nudity. 18+ only"

Actually, the Woreld Series should be appropriately named the World`s
Series (or so the legend goes) because it was sponsored by the New York
World newspaper. Also, it includes Canadian teams (when we have them) and
Toronto won two years running, much to the discomfiture of the southern
empire.
It was also in Canada where the colour barrier was broken in professional
sports.

Tell me again how that Canadian team won two World Series? Clue: they
didn't do that by moving Toronto to the US.
