    Default Barb's Orgasmic Brownies

Barb Schaller's Famous Orgasmic Chocolate Brownies
    Recipe By: Barb Schaller

    Serving Size: 20

First Place, Minnesota State Fair -- twice.

1 cup unsalted butter (8 oz.)
4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate (I like Guittard's Oban wafers)
2 cups granulated sugar (15 oz.)
    4 eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chopped nuts, optional (walnuts or pecans)
    1 1/3 cups cake flour (6 oz.)
1 teaspoon baking powder (maybe 3/4 tsp if the bp is very fresh)
    1/2 teaspoon salt

Move oven rack to center and preheat oven to 350? F. Line a 9x13" metal
    baking pan with parchment paper.

In microwave oven, on medium-high power, melt butter and chocolate in
2-quart microwave-safe bowl, about 3 minutes. Stir until smooth. Mix
in granulated sugar, then beat in eggs, one at a time, with wire whisk.

Mix in vanilla and almond. Stir in nuts. Combine cake flour, baking
powder, and salt and fold into chocolate. Spread batter in 9x13" pan
lined with baking parchment and bake in preheated oven at 350?F for
about 33-35 minutes. Do not overbake; toothpick may have fudgy crumbs
on it, but not wet batter.

Cool pan on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing (if you wish)
    brownies from pan.

Notes: Please, keep the moaning down; it annoys the neighbors. I use
the baking parchment so the whole can be removed from the pan for easy
transport to a lucky recipient. You may want to support the bottom with
    cardboard.

Seems like a waste of coca. I prefer
    it straight.

Mess with Barb's brownies at your own risk, These are so fantastic you
should at least TRY the original recipe before you start fiddling with
    it!

While that might be the best brownie recipe, the idea that brownies
could be up there with orgasms seems absurd. Even really great dark
chocolate is nowhere near up there with sexual pleasure. I've heard
it suggested that large amounts of cocoa can enhance sex, and have
many times thought of putting cocoa powder into 00 gelatin capsules
for that use. Funny, but a version of "Behind Closed Doors," sung by
a blues singer, just came on American Routes.

I don't have it off the top of my head, but it's easy enough to look up,
Steve. I think it's something like 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder + 1
tbsp fat (shortening or butter) to equal 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate.
Check it out online -- maybe the Baker's chocolate site.

Thanks, Fleece. That's what I should have told him. I don't use cocoa
    - only unsweetened chocolate in solid form.

Dollink, they come with a couple blue ribbons. If that ain't good
enough for you, you'll just have to take a chance. (Might want to close
the windows in consideration of the neighbors, though.)

    http://www.joyofbaking.com/unsweeten...#ixzz1kAAAAmwH

Substitution for 1 ounce (30 grams) unsweetened chocolate: 3
tablespoons (18 grams) unsweetened natural cocoa powder plus 1
tablespoon (17 grams) unsalted butter or shortening

You should quit breathing poison. It's two thousand freakin' twelve.

I agree, except for one minor point! It's "Twenty Twelve"!

We've been saying it's "Nineteen-<something>" all our lives when
referring to the current year (or any year, really), and I think we're
over the hump of the millennium change. I think we can save a phoneme
    or two again. ;-)

And just to hammer down Bryan's point, being out of cigarettes is one
of the best things that could happen to you! Be out permanently!
